We love referrals, but when it's mothers and daughters it is especially meaningful to us. #50 Baldwin, Long Island was very happy with her home and how we treated her, so her mom told us she knew she wanted us to design her home.  And what a home it is!  It's a spanish style terracotta roof "beach house" on the beach on Long Island on a corner lot.  The interior is contemporary with multi levels and has wrapping decks and a roof top deck for breathtaking ocean views.

We began with the living room and dining room.  The house was only framed when we measured but had unique features like an elevator, theater, putting green and some other surprises!  All of the ceilings were multi level as well.

The living room was very long (and very glamorous.)  We designed a 24 foot long (7 piece) snake sectional in golds and creams.  We used metallic vinyls, patterned vinyls, metallic patterned fabrics and microfibers.  It's beyond stunning!  We also played with golds and silvers in the same room so it doesn't look heavy.  A 20 foot long custom rug will sit below it and a 17 foot long canvas embellished with metals will coordinate above it.  I have been doing more and more paintings lately, and now our clients see the window treatments, rugs and canvases as the completion to all our furniture designs.  We also used a huge metal and glass cocktail table and two dramatic chairs with a handpainted table between them.  The other side of the room has a chaise with the curviest arm I've ever seen to lay (dramatically) and look out the window at yet another view.

The dining room is stately and elegant.  A 96" glass top over a metal and burl wood base. with a burl wood buffet up on a metal base.  The finest in Italian craftsmanship.  The chairs are wood with stainless backs and soft ultrasuede in a channeled upholstery.  Under this setting is a custom rug in the creams, browns, silvers, gold and a little cranberry.  The window treatments are made to look like moving sand.

It is a pleasure working with this family, and we wish them many years of happiness and ocean breezes in their dream home!

Please return in April 2010 when their custom home is completed and the furniture arrives just in time for the beach season.
