Brooklyn is in the house!! The Dodgers left in the 50's. Coney Island was rough in the 60's. Recession in the 70's. Exodus in the 80's. Then in the 90's something extraordinary started happening. People from everywhere fell in love with Brooklyn all over again. From the brownstones of Park Slope, to the magnificent homes of Mill Basin and Manhatten beach. From the great restaurants of Bay Ridge to the religious sections of Borough Park. Then, almost overnight, the streets of Brooklyn Heights and the Promenade, the incredible growth of Williamsburg, to the fine restaurants of Boerum Hill ,(hello my beautiful great nephew), became as popular as the big city across the river. That neighborhood feel, the great new shopping, and the general warmth and coziness that was always Brooklyn, is back. More popular than ever. Our website reached to the steps of the Brooklyn Bridge, and invited this wonderful couple to give up sailing for a weekend and drive over to see us. Yes, they purchased a sofa before meeting us, but everyone makes mistakes. Let's go to work and make this apartment beautiful. No more heavy old looking wall units! We now design 'media buffets' to feature the new thin TV's. Light, airy, using contemporary finishes. 'Floating shelves', trimmed in stainless, coordinates with the many pieces of metal art sculpture already in the home. Two comfortable swivel chairs, with a shapely ottoman in 'claret'. Those of us from Brooklyn don't call the color red or burgandy. We call it 'claret'. The final touch, a 'Pia' custom area rug to tie in all the colors of the room.
Please return in June to see how this seafaring couple added color, comfort and style to their beautiful abode, just steps from the golden streets of Manhattan, but located in what will always be the center of the world; Brooklyn, NY.
