This extraordinary renovation of an old multi-family home into one home with lots of rooms and office space was complicated. A spiral staircase goes up up this dormered roof loft level to reveal an unexpected stone fireplace and skylights. It's the party room! Challenge - there is a column holding up the entire house right in the middle of the room and the back half of the ceiling angles so acutely, you can't stand up! But the room is very large and it will be great for watching television, making a fire and entertaining. We selected overstuffed hexagonal shaped sectionals with multi-pillow backs to flank the column. The backside has custom ottomans the size of a sectional with lots of tossed pillows for lounging. An angled custom rug fits into this cozy "pit." The colors and fabrics are plush taupes, midnight blue and mango for a little splash. The space where the column meets the sectionals will get custom tables built in to finish off the continuous line (making the column look like part of the design.)
