Unique designs that reflect the homeowners personality is the key to our business. It is not our way to show you what you should buy, but it is our professional responsibility to define your needs and place options before you. Design options, color options, budget options. The final decision always belongs the the client. Some want a room full of beiges and linear furniture, and others........well, they insist on color and brightness, and curves everywhere. The clients of 'The Contemporary Couch' are a wonderful cross-section of all religions, ethnicities and economic status. They shop with us because they love the personal and respectful way they are treated; they love our unique designs; and they love the way we translate their individuality into artistic and beautiful home furnishings. This Long Island client desired a bright color scheme for her beautiful home. The family wanted designs created just for her. They wanted Pia to out-do herself and make the home a reflection of this warm, loving family. The color scheme is bold and colorful: the design is contemporary with a flair; and the originality of design is...Pia.

We are the only showroom in the country to offer this winding design sectional. The curves go inside, outside, and then inside again. A swirling burgundy and gold pattern is selected for the back of the sectional, in combination with a tangerine microsuede and leather seating.

The custom rug coordinates with the curves and colors of the sectional. Our custom area rugs are all hand drawn by Pia so that you own art for your floor that can never be duplicated. Available in wool or nylon, they fit the proportions and color scheme of the furniture and the room. Sometimes multi-levels and metallic threads are used to bring an even more luxurious look.

Our wall sculptures are designed by Pia and hand-made by us. The intricacies of the design and the translation to sculpture is a process we are most proud of. Lacquered and air brushed paint covers unique shapes. The colors tie in with the fabrics on the sectional and the colors and shapes in the custom rug. This is a large sculpture that is so impressive when entering the room.

The entertainment center and buffet represent another of our unique services designed and drawn by hand to fit your purpose, your sizes, and your colors, our bedrooms, dining rooms, and entertainment centers are built one at a time by superior craftsmen. The design featured, continues the curvaceous nature of all the other designs, A wavy display cabinet and circular curio highlight the design.

The balance of the designs in the room, include crescent shaped coffee tables and ottomans, comfortable swivel chairs, and unique handles on the custom buffet.

Design Process
Some stores may call their designs unique, but ours are one-of-a-kind, because we design everything ourselves. After Pia comes to the home to measure and create, these drawings are just part of the presentation. All hand drawn, all hand made to provide you with a look you can call your own. Below you see a floor plan, drawings for the entertainment center and buffet, and the computer printout for the custom rug. NONE of your neighbors could ever walk into your home and exclaim..."I HAVE THE SAME THING!"
